Visual identity for Skopje. City, Architecture and the Art of Solidarity exhibition

CASE NR.4

CLIENT: MCK KRAKÓW

2020

The visual identity for this exhibition, held in 2019 at the International Cultural Center in Kraków, captured the complex history of Skopje, the capital of Macedonia, after the devastating 1963 earthquake. The exhibition explored the city's architectural and cultural rebirth, focusing on Skopje’s transformation through international solidarity and its connection to modernist design movements. The design concept reflected the resilience of a city rebuilt through unity and creativity, highlighting Skopje’s journey from destruction to renewal.

Inspired by the city's brutalist architecture and the bold colors of the Macedonian flag, the visual identity featured raw geometric forms and concrete textures that symbolized Skopje's strength and modernist legacy. This graphic system was applied consistently across both printed and digital materials, creating a cohesive visual language that echoed the exhibition’s themes. The design approach emphasized Skopje’s unique architectural heritage and its lasting identity as a city rebuilt through global collaboration and artistic innovation.
